What Is the Intro to the Kite Lesson?
This beginner kitesurfing lesson focuses on building confidence, understanding safety and flying your first real kitesurf kite.
Unlike many schools, we get you into a wetsuit and into the water from the very beginning. No time wasted flying trainer kites on the beach.
Instead, we spend the first hour covering essential knowledge before moving straight into the water to fly a real LEI kitesurf kite on short lines for maximum safety and faster progression.
What You’ll Learn in Your First Kitesurf Lesson
Beach & Safety Foundations (Approx 1 Hour)
Before we hit the water, you’ll learn the core knowledge every kitesurfer must understand:
- Wind awareness and weather forecasting• Understanding tides and Camber Sands conditions• Setting up kitesurf equipment safely• Safety systems and emergency procedures• Risk assessment and safe decision making
These skills form the foundation of every future kitesurf session.
Into the Water – Fly Your First Kite
After the essentials, it’s time to get wet and start flying a real kitesurf kite.
We teach using short-line setups, which:
- Increase safety• Reduce power and intimidation• Allow faster skill progression• Build confidence quickly
By the end of the lesson, you’ll be confidently flying a kitesurf kite in the water and ready to move onto the next stage of your kitesurf progression.
