The kite foil mast determines your ride height, stability and how the foil feels beneath your feet. A longer hydrofoil mast gives you more clearance above the water and better upwind ability, while a shorter mast is easier to control when you are learning.
Most kite foil masts come in lengths between 60cm and 90cm. Beginners typically start on a shorter mast (60-70cm) to stay closer to the water and reduce the consequences of crashes. As your confidence grows, moving to a longer carbon foil mast unlocks better performance and smoother riding in chop.
Material matters too – aluminium masts are more affordable and durable, while carbon masts are lighter, stiffer and more responsive. We stock masts from leading foil brands with various mounting standards. Make sure to check compatibility with your foil setup before purchasing. If you are unsure which mast length or material suits your riding, our team can talk you through the options.
