Description

AK Tracer Foil Series

The AK Tracer Foil Series is a medium aspect ratio front wing for ease of use & manoeuvrability, it’s early to initiate flight, extremely stable under high power and high speed loading, but uniquely agile in carving, and retains good glide when the power is removed. If there is one foil for performance versatility in the range this would be it.

Front wing sizes range from 1900 down to 850, and quivers can be built usually with a size in between. learning on a 1900 will bring you a 1300 as the next step down wing.

The 850 and 1000 are also very capable kite foil wings.

Rear Stabiliser types and characteristics

Please note that the AK foils have a sliding adjustable mount on the stab so you can alter the power and balance of foil across a good range of feel.

340 Moustache – the easiest and most powerful rear stab offering balance against the larger front wings and for those riders who prefer the most stable yaw control and higher front foot loadings

300 Moustache – the mid size and power stab with added yaw resistance for medium sized front wings and adjustable foot weighting from neutral to positive front.

260 Moustache – the smallest of this series, which has good yaw resistance with the lowest front foot loadings best suited to the lightest riders, smallest front wings and those who prefer neutral foot weighting.

300 Arc Down – This is a flatter stabiliser that is more efficient and aloud the rider to yaw the foil with greater ease. A more advanced rear stab with a neutral to moderate front foot loading depending on how you set it up.

260 Arc Down – The most aggressive of the stabilisers for advanced use offering the highest manouverability, highest efficiency but lowest stability and most neutral stance weighting.

Fuselage Length

71cm Fuselage – by far the most popular and not a long fuselage in the grand scheme of things. Manouverable yet good pitch control, it’s the allrounder.
61cm Fuselage – shot and agile for expert use. The fastest carving and most reactive of the two fuselages, but makes pitch stability highly reactive and a handful for those who are not of expert level.

Mast Length AK Tracer Foil Series

Aluminium 60/70/80/95cm. All alloy masts need an alloy mast plate to mount to the board.
Carbon 80,90,105 – no mast plate needed, all 0 degree.
Mast length depends largely on how much water you have. Shorter masts alloy you to recover breaches more comfortably, but when you get to 80cm nearly all breaches result in a fall. Longer masts give more confidence in carves, in chop, and the optimum for most people its around 90cm to 100cm depending in depth.

Alloy plate angle

The AK Tracer Foil Series alloy masts use an alloy plate that you can specify in 0 degree (for most uses) or 1.5 degree, which will raise the nose of the board by 1.5 degrees.

This is preferable on the fastest smallest foils used in higher winds, better balancing the board, but it will detract from low wind initial flight initiation.
